FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Minnesota,
Wednesday, September 17, 2014: A new edition of “Straight
Talk” comes to you live from Radio Africa studio 300A, on Saturday September 20th
at 2:00 p.m.-CST, 3:00 p.m.-EST and 7:00 p.m.-GMT with special guest from
Liberia and the United States.
The public is invited to join the discussion as the show
brings live from Monrovia an Ebola survivor called Decontee. She is from Mount-Barclay,
a community on the outskirts of the Liberia’s capital Monrovia.
Miss Decontee was release from the ELWA hospital alive
and in good spirit on September 1st of this year. She and her fiancé
contracted the deadly Ebola virus back in August, from her aunt who later died along
with all her children.
Decontee said she was in denial but reluctantly
sought help from Dr. Brown at ELWA Hospital. Her fiancé arrived at the hospital
5 days later to seek treatment but it was too late for him. He died few days
later.
Decontee survived because she started to self-medicate
and drank coconut water that gave her some strength as she forced herself to
the hospital a week after getting sick. She became motivated to turn herself in by hearing testimony from a survivor at ELWA hospital. Listen to Decontee and a Liberian Ebola activist, Jackie McCay, give us an insight into the Ebola outbreak this
weekend on Straight Talk, hosted by Al-Hussein Fadiga and Edmond R. Gray.
Appearing on the show from the United States is,
Mrs.Pisso Saydee-Tarr, executive director of the Lemah Gbowee Peace Foundation
and Mr. Cephas Acolatse, President, Liberia Association of Greater Houston.
