A Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led government will be marred with corruption, human rights violation, and infighting. All the signs of a chaotic administration are written on the walls, but some of you are too unreasonable to see the bigger picture. Liberia cannot afford a distraction that would impede economic growth and infrastructure development. Some Liberians in the diaspora are threatening to sell their properties in Liberia if Weah wins the presidency. Some foreign businesses might also be nervous about investing in Liberia.
Many of you have legitimate reasons to be angry and disappointed with the Sirleaf’s administration. Notwithstanding, the alternative for change lacks the temperament, and ability to affect the change we longed for in our society. In fact, the man who professed to be an agent of change, George Weah, agrees with the current president 99% of the time. How will a CDC administration be different from the Sirleaf government, when all of the officials who embezzled government funds, and became millionaires overnight, are supporting the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC)?
Fellow Liberians, sometimes one has to appeal to their better angels, by taking a position that is unpopular for the betterment of one’s country. Liberia is more significant than an individual, or political institution. Stay woke on the current realities in Liberia. The bad decisions that we make today will significantly affect our lives tomorrow. Stand with Liberia by rejecting the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) on November 7th!
